The pure white sands and turquoise waters of Shelly Beach, NSW, provided the perfect backdrop for The Madonna surfboard campaign. Inspired by the 2018 Met Gala theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, and infused with our favourite 1980s influences, this design is a celebration of bold femininity, nostalgia, and self-expression.
Meet Me at The Met, captured by Bitter End Productions and Salty See, follows the story of a young woman who slips away from the ball to reconnect with nature and the ocean. In the vastness of the landscape, she finds stillness - a place of solitude, free from expectation and obligation. It is a place we often seek in the world around us, but one that ultimately exists within.
Both the surfboard and the campaign are designed to evoke memory, awaken emotion, and celebrate feminine strength. They honour the beauty of womanhood and the harmony between body, mind, and spirit - reminding us that confidence and grace are found not in perfection, but in authenticity.
